Here are a few of our favorite books for Halloween:

"Can You See What I See On A Scary Scary Night?" by Walter Wick
We all love searching for the teeny objects hidden in these creative photos.

In fact, I love this book so much I made a suitcase with images from it.

It makes me happy to see this coming around on the baggage carousel at the airport.

"Halloween Drawing Book" by Ed Emberley

I used to not like how-to-draw books, but I'm starting to think they have value. Everyone learns differently, and breaking things down into basic shapes and steps seems to really help some beginning artists. My only worry is that, forever after, this is how you'll draw an owl, or a bird, or a spider. When you're little, you often get locked in to doing something a certain way. I hope this kind of book serves as a jumping off point, and a catalyst for creativity.

"The Halloween Play" by Felicia Bond
(previously released as "The Halloween Performance")
Both of my girls are fond of this mouse. He's so earnest and enthusiastic.
