I went a little crazy with a Pinterest board: Memories from 1970s-80s. I drank a lot of Crystal Light out of that pitcher.
Wow. I did not miss that show. Did you guys watch "Little House on the Prairie"?
There's a lot of wacky stuff from my childhood. It seems like everyone had one of these clicker things.
Mexican dresses. Maybe it's because I grew up in Texas, but every person I know had one of these.
What do YOU associate with being a kid?
Hey wait a minute! I STILL use one of those pitchers (except mine is yellow) and I have lost the top. I have NEVER seen an episode of "Little House" and I don't think I ever saw one of those little clicker things and I'll have to admit to never having owned one of those Mexican Dresses...

Well, Lloyd...it would seem you missed out on some pretty awesome stuff from that era. Then again, you weren't an elementary school girl, so that might have had something to do with the selection.

Lloyd is hilarious!
OKay, my childhood is.... Tears for Fears, Body Glove bathing suits, Day Glo T-Shirts, Zinc Day Glo sunscreen, swatches up the arm, scrunchies x 30 at a time, salmon color with teal accent cassette stereo, pool pool pool, rhinestones covering everything, button pins on everything, levi jackets, Guess? brand, too many bunch up socks at once, cruising day and night in my white rabbit convertible, The Smurfs, The Fragels, The Littles, Cory Haim, double folded and rolled up pant bottoms, Duran Duran, braces, HUGE bangs and hairsprayed teased sides above the ears too, spiral perms (awful), khaki shorts that were oh so unflattering.... oh I could go on and on ;-)
I remember that awful pitcher. We had it too.
Don't remember the clicker and yes to Little House and Anne of Green Gables.

ps: No, no one wore the Mexican dresses around my neck of the woods back then, weird right? Maybe in the early 70's, but not sure. But they wear them now and I think they are too sweet!!

I had that pitcher too & the counter thingie, ours was red.
Being a kid.....cherry & watermelon Lip Smackers lip balm, swim caps & swimming pools,, sprinklers to run through, macrame, The Brady Bunch, Ray Raynor, Garfield Goose, Capt. Kangaroo, Bozo, those dot candies on a paper strip, wax bottles filled with sweet liquid, headbands (on top of head & around forehead), Coppertone lotion & Hawaiian Tropic oil ( to get more tan , not as a sunscreen), jean jackets & army jackets, plain & flat flip flops (we called them thongs), silver aluminum Christmas tree with color wheel, boxed Halloween costumes with plastic mask, etc., etc., etc.!

Childhood memories; picking blackberries, climbing trees, riding my bike, loving my Mom's hot dog/mashed potato/cheese bake, reading, Howdy Doody on TV after school, special occasion horse rides at the local stable, needing pepto bismol after every holiday dinner.

Vanessa-ALL THOSE THINGS! But we're almost exactly the same age, so that explains it.
Laura-I had to look up Space Food Sticks. How weird. And I liked those big bubbles, too.
Charlotte-That dish of your mothers sounds, well....perhaps it is an acquired taste?
