Ooooh! I want to try this. Look at these fun trees from Makin' Projiks. Great idea, lady! (All these photos are from Sarah on her blog.)
The basic idea: take those mini bottle brush trees you see everywhere at Christmas (You have 5 or 6 stashed away somewhere....right?) then bleach them. Then, take your tree and dye it in Halloween shades.
2. Dip the suckers in 1/2 bleach and 1/2 hot hot water.
It's okay...just go on and dunk 'em!
3. Now take those albino trees and dip them into some dye. Rit works, but I bet you could get by with plain old food coloring in a pinch. Or even Kool-Aid. Kool-Aid is so stainy it's practically toxic. I hate to see what my esophagus looks like after a glass of Kool-Aid.
4. Double dip for two toned trees. Wait for them to dry, then decorate to your heart's desire.
These would be great for any holiday....I'm imagining pastel Easter trees, yes?
hmmm that is a cool effect. were you the one who posted the bleached trees like this strung on twine and used as a simple Christmas garland? it was really pretty. I've threatened to hot glue a forest of these little trees to the dashboard of my truck. :) Wouldn't it be cool? I would permanently be riding through the woods....

That wasnt me, but it sounds neat.
Ill have to try to find that.
I would LOVE to see those trees on a dashboard.
With a forest full of little creatures...like a bobblehead deer or something.
