I hope you all had a nice Easter!
We started our morning with some 'mush'. Mix your favorite oatmeal with brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, fresh ginger, walnuts, and frozen cherries. Yum.
I got really luck and saw a rabbit--a real one--on the driveway outside our kitchen window. I grabbed Violet out of her high chair and said, "Look! It's the Easter Bunny!" She saw him just as he hopped away into the woods. Then the grown-up chicanery began.....
I left 'Easter Bunny Tracks' I made with two fingers and flour. (I made the photo tiny to hide my hideous carpet.) Violet was very excited that the Easter Bunny had been hopping through the house. She kept saying, "De bunny maked de tracks!" Then she would hop on top of them. She was confused about how he got in. "Easter Bunny go in de door?" We told her it was a kind of magic door that only opened on Easter. Kind of like the dog door, but for rabbits.
Oooooh......faux food! Violet kept saying, "Thanks, Bunny!"
She likes hunting eggs, but she's more interested in opening them than collecting them.
She tried to climb gigantic trees.
I had my friend Sarah over for a pre-Easter lunch. We had carrot soup, spring risotto, and chicken salad sandwiches. I like chicken salad with dill, red onion, red grapes, red onion, and red potatoes. Here is the recipe for spring risotto from Cooking Light.
I made silly place settings that I stuck in a strawberry in an egg cup. Like I needed place settings....there were two of us. Still, they make me happy. So I make them. Good enough reason, right?
I made peanut butter chocolate bars, but they were too dry. They just never wanted to set up in the center, so I left them in too long. So, I smeared them with a layer of peanut butter, like icing, then smothered them with chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and chopped up Reese's cups.
I had a great package from my friend Bettina--thanks! And I'm working on tons of bracelets and a suitcase for a new project. Photos coming soon!
That lunch looks yummy, and I love the place settings! Violet just looks too darn cute in that dress. :)

I'm hungry! I love oatmeal with dried cherries and walnuts. Must have for breakfast tomorrow. And chicken salad on a croissant? The best. All around lovely.
