Hey....I'll let you in on a secret. I'm tired of typing alternate names for my daughter.
I've used a pseudonym for her until now because I'm paranoid about:
a. People trying to abduct her. If they know her name, I reason in my crazy overprotective head, it will be easier to nab her.
b. She might not appreciate the publicity later on in life.
Well, I think both of those are a little on the silly side. A-I never let the kid out of my sight, and I'm a total worry wart mother chicken. Anyone even thinking of nabbing my little precious wouldn't have a chance. I'm just too paranoid and hovering. And B- she will probably have her own Facebook page/blah blah/technological blah blah super early in life. If she doesn't like the photos or info on here, she can use her little computer whiz mind to come back and erase things.
So.....without further ado:
My daughter's name is Violet.
Or Super Violet.
I like that her name is a color and a flower. I like that it's old fashioned. I like that it's feminine and pretty. I hope 5 million other people don't suddenly decide it's a good name. I also like that Violet on the Peanuts is the girl who threw the Halloween party every year. And Violet Baudelaire. Adam really liked the name, too. We also like that we have wild violets growing in our woods.
I put these in her stocking this year. Adam likes them, but I think they're nasty. They taste like those Avon bath salts you'd get as a kid. They smell lovely, but who wants to eat bath salts? Apparently, violet scented/flavored candies were all the rage in the early 1900s.
You have no idea how many times I've almost screwed up and typed it. I lovey the Violet.

The most precious child living! The nicknames are fun to come up with, depending on her antics of the moment. Glad I don't have to be afraid of slipping-up now.
