I wanted to make something for Miss TwoTwo, but I wanted it to go quickly. So....I limited myself to 30 minutes. Whatever I could do by then, that's what she'd get. I've been trying to recycle/upcycle things instead of donating them lately.
I took an old sweater of mine I accidentally shrunk. It's fuzzy mohair and a soft periwinkle color. I placed a sleeveless dress that fits my daughter over the front and cut around it. The turtleneck stays the same, it just becomes a big turtleneck. I cut the sleeves off to match sleeves from one of her sweaters. I just guessed. I tried to make the curve of the sleeve match the curve of the armpits.
Turn inside out, and sew the side seams. Turn sleeve inside out, and sew the bottom seam.
Sew the sleeves onto the body and you're done! It took 28 minutes from start to finish. I am a big fan of instant gratification some days.
Now....if you want to get fancier, play around with some felt.
I used iron on adhesive paper, and cut out shapes with felt. I ironed that onto the sweater, then sewed around by hand with embroidery thread. I sewed buttons onto circles of felt for eyes. She's really into owls, so it was a hit.
YOU ARE A M A Z I N G !
