I've been putting together a little snow village in Miss Baby's nursery room. Adam and I sang stupid made-up carols in front of it last night. Bliss.
Look at this silly thing! Ooooh...in the original box, no less. I love the 'our low price-$4.47' sticker. I got it for $1.00-wheee!!!!
The houses are hollow, with a light hole in the back, and a printed screen of transparent vellum to acheive that stained glass effect. Next year, I think I'll glitter the roofs and bases.
I find that fake snow batting material hard to work with. Next year I think I'll experiment with fabric. I'd be thrilled to have one of these set up along the back of the bathtub, but there's that tricky electricity problem.
Tiny trees make everything more festive, don't they?
I'm a fan of silly carriages. I scour thrift stores for any bits of carriages, large, small, broken---I'll take them all. I love to hitch them to silly animals. You can't see it, but there is a blue plastic cocktail monkey in the bigger carriage, and a little lion in the small one.
