I wasn't quite ready for Autumn to leave yet, were you? Around here, fall usually lasts about 2 weeks. This year, however, we had a much longer, lusher leaf season than usual. I'm never ready for the slide into winter.
This is the view out the studio window right now.
This video soothed me.....the lovely sounds of Erik Satie accompanied by autumn photos.
This is a view from the porch. A very cute family of bluebirds lived in the birdhouse this spring.
On a totally random note, I was thinking about Remedios Varo. Her work is so mysterious. Get a load of that dress!
"Papilla Estrela" - This may be my favorite.
"Creation of the Birds" - No, this one is my favorite.
Anyway--I just wanted share a few of her paintings in case you hadn't seen her work before. It's a shame so many of the female surrealists got swept under the rug. I guess the art scene was a man's world back then, but we lost track of so many artists just because their work was dismissed as feminine. The implication, of course, being that feminine was somehow lesser and insignificant. Booo!

Love love love. {sigh}
and this one-she was before her time!!
