I've been wanting a Halloween-ish snack mix. It must have candy corn, and I've been trying to decide what other things to throw in.
This recipe from Taste of Home is so classic. I think colored M&Ms and popcorn need to go in there for sure. Maybe Reeses pieces are more color appropriate, though. And I like a little shot of peanut butter taste.
I'm not sure I'd want these tastes together, but the color combo is great.
Also, these cheddar cheese pumpkins with pretzel stem and parsley leaf are special. I don't think it would hold up in a snack mix bowl, though---too smushy. They're both found at Passion for Parties.
I like this one from Meemo's kitchen that uses sunflower kernels, cinnamon, and cloves.
This one from Cheat Day Cafe is cute, but a little too....expected, maybe. I'd like a more grown-up version.
Now that I've looked at a bunch of different recipes, I think I'll work on my own. I want:
- One that is Harvest/Autumn-ish and more fruit and nut based
- Another version that is sweet and crunchy and for grown up Halloween Folks (and wee folks, too)
I'll put up a recipe/s when I come up with something.

anything with candy corn and/or mellowcreme pumpkins.....i'm there...
