It's finally here....the Virtual Mad Tea Party (of the Costume Variety), in honor of the 200th post over at A Fanciful Twist. I am posting my contribution the night before, as I will not be around this Saturday.
Why, yes, Miss Squirrel, I did hear about Vanessa's soiree. However, I'm never quite sure what to bring to a tea party...especially a virtual one. So, I thought I'd cover all my bases.
Above all, we need our main characters. I didn't know if Vanessa had an actual Dormouse or not, so I am bringing all the characters. (virtually, of course) We may, naturally, have duplicates, but I'm not opposed to umpteen White Rabbits. This is part of an amazing mechanical display by Ellen Rixford.
I supposed I'd better bring my own teapot, too. There can never be too many teapots at a tea party, hmmm? This lovely is from Mackenzie-Childs.
And I shall bring along some cake. Vanessa, would you please honor us by cutting the first slice? It is a magic cake, by the way---whatever flavor you want it to be, it is! Beautiful cake courtesy of Pink Cake Box.
I will be wearing this! If only my flamingo would behave.
Perhaps I'd better bring some extra cups and saucers.
If I don't hide these from Vanessa, they'll have stripes painted on them soon. China by Tina Tsang.
Seeing as how I've never been to Vanessa's, I'll bring a globe in case I get lost.
This is such a fabulous set of altered globes.
They're made by Greaves and Thomas of the UK.
Illustration by Arthur Rackham. I've had a fantastic time at the party, but I'm sleepy as a Dormouse. Oh, dear- I think I have cake in my hair, too. I'd better run while the White Rabbit is around to point me in the direction of home. Thanks, Vanessa - I had a lovely time!
